Tangled Abstracts

Combine abstract art elements with tangles to create wonderful Zentangle inspired artwork. You will learn my method in this video-on-demand class (14 bite-sized videos, total length 1h 51m), with an eBook that you will be able to use for future reference. Unlimited access to all content.
I am always looking for new ways to integrate Zentangle's elements and principles with other art forms. I really wanted to create a fusion of classical abstract art and Zentangle. And the ultimate goal was to present a framework, a methodology that would help anyone to create beautiful artwork in that style. I think that I finally succeeded and I am more than happy to present you this new class.

This is a video-on-demand class with unlimited access to all contents, combined with a PDF eBook to use for future reminders and references. Video lessons are bite-sized, divided into logical steps to finishing the project, so you can take your time and pause if you need more time to catch up or simply to take a break.

In the eBook you'll fond the step-by-step guide to completing the project, cheat sheet, photos of other examples I created with underlying background shapes and strings etc.

Supplies

I recommend using the following supplies:
  • round white tile (I’ll use the original Zentangle’s Zendala)
  • alcohol markers, water-based markers, watercolor pencils or similar supply for drawing colored background shapes (I'm using Copic markers in Fuchsia, Aqua, Cool Shadow and Yellow Green)
  • black pen of your choice, such as Micron PN
  • colored pens of choice (I'm using Gelly Roll pen, no. 420)
  • watercolor pencils (I'm using Faber-Castell's Albrecht Durer: Fuchsia and ight Green)
  • thin water brush
  • white Gelly Roll 10
  • white charcoal pencil
  • graphite pencil (I'm using Cretacolor's Nero extrasoft)
  • blending stumps
  • grey alcohol marker for deepening the shades (optional - I'm using Winsor&Newton's Promarker, Warm Grey 3)
You can choose any colors you like and any supplies you own – just have fun!
