I recommend using the following supplies:
- Phi-sized toned tile (I’ll use the original Zentangle’s Renaissance Phi, size: 5"x 3.1" / 12.7 cm x 7.847cm)
- black pen of your choice, such as Micron 01 or PN
- white Gelly Roll 10
- white charcoal and/or color pencil
- graphite pencil
- blending stumps
- grey alcohol marker for deepening the shades (optional)
You can choose any toned paper, such as tan or gray or other color of your choice. If you use a white background, you will not be able to add highlights but you can definitely finish the project.
Using colors to enhance details (color the beads or tangles) might be a nice addition, as you can see in my examples below.
